Ahmadiyya Muslim parents have been asked to create the enabling environment to enhance the development of their girl-child.
Madam Hafsa Saeed, Oforikrom Circuit Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association, who made the call, stressed the need for parents to equip their children with relevant skills, expertise and knowledge that would benefit them and the nation in future.
She said this when the Oforikrom circuit of the Association donated food items worth about GH¢500 to the Kumasi Children’s Home in Kumasi on Sunday.
The donation formed part of activities marking the commemoration of Khilafat Ahmadiyya of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission worldwide, an event observed by Ahmadis to thank God for his spiritual guidance and protection.
Madam Saeed said women played a very important role in the growth of the Ahmadiyya Movement and the socio-economic development of the country and that it was about time that women issues were taken seriously by all well-meaning Ahmadis.
Madam Elizabeth Arthur, Child Care Officer of the Home, received the donation.
