Bad breath coming out your mouth is quite embarrassing, especially for people who constantly have to face the situation in front of everyone.
However, with appropriate dental care and hygiene, anyone can get rid of bad breath instantly. Oral health maintenance should be your foremost priority as it can have profound impact on your internal health as well.
Here are some top quick fixes for you to get rid of bad breath.
1. Get some spices
A lot of spices used in your kitchen are natural sources of breath enhancement. As a bad breath precaution you can always carry a small pouch containing fennel, cloves, anise seeds or cardamom to munch after meals.
2. Brush the tongue regularly
Brushing the tongue is often overlooked. The tongue is deeply covered with minute hair-like projections that look just like a tiny mushroom forest under the microscope. This is the place where plaque and a lot of things that we consume harbors. When the food harboring under these tiny mushrooms is left unclean, it starts building up plaque and causes bad breath.
3. Prepare homemade gargle
Mix up extracts of calendula, myrrh gum and sage in equal quantities. Use the mixture to gargle at least 4 times in the day. All of these ingredients are easily available at health food stores. Store the mixture in a preserved container at room temperature.
4. Reduce the consumption of odorous food
Food prepared using high spices lingers on inside for long. The taste and smell of certain food ingredients can circulate inside your mouth for much longer than other foods. The odor may hang on for 24 hours at least, depending on the amount of food consumed. It won't matter how frequently you brush teeth. Garlic, onions, and hot peppers are some examples of food that cause long lasting bad breath.
5. Put a ban on certain beverages
Wine, beer, whiskey, and coffee are some of the beverages that cause bad breath. Drinking these beverages leaves residue which stick to plaque in the mouth as well as break into the digestive system. When you breathe, it whirls into the air.
6. Carry your toothbrush wherever you go
You can get rid of a lot of odors both temporarily and permanently by brushing your teeth right after having a meal. There are almost 50 trillion microscopic organisms lingering inside your mouth. These organisms pass through each bit of food you take in. The bacteria inside your mouth exhales as you breathe. So, whenever you have a meal, make sure you brush your teeth right after it.
