Asante Kotoko ended their three-game winless run by coming from behind to beat Bechem United 3-1 in the Ghana Premier League at their adopted Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
Another miserable day for under-fire manager Maxwell Konadu seemed in store when Kotoko trailed after 20 minutes to Hafiz Konkoni’s superb header.
However, Kotoko sparked into life and scored the equaliser in the 37th minute through Martin Antwi. He was at the right place to tap the ball home following a terrible mistake by Bechem goalkeeper Prince Asempa.
Former Bechem forward Augustine Okrah gave Kotoko the lead on the stroke of halftime. He capitalised on another mistake by Asempa to strike the ball into the net.
Kotoko sealed the win in the 55th minute when Ibrahim Imoro scored a brilliant free-kick.
The Porcupine Warriors came into the match on the back of troubled few weeks. They picked up just one point in last two league games and also exited the MTN FA Cup at the round of 64 stage.
Kotoko have moved to second but have the same points as leaders AshantiGold who will be in action on Sunday.
