Thousands from all walks of life thronged the New Palace, Boahen Korkor Fie, Adomako in Sunyani to mourn the late queen mother of Sunyani, Nana Yaa Nyamaa Puduo II.
Former President Jerry John Rawlings, as well as a government delegation, also joined mourners to mourn the late queen mother.
The colourful exhibition of tradition also saw traditional rulers from the Bono Region and beyond gracing the funeral rites with their distinguished personalities.
The recent viral videos which showed people being beaten by some traditional warriors did not scare residents in Sunyani as they thronged the funeral grounds to pay their last respect as well as catch a glimpse of the tradition on display.
Catholic Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese, Most Rev Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi in his sermon admonished the various traditional councils to see to the end of all litigation describing it as a means of retarding development.
He said the late queen mother, a devoted catholic, was a peace-loving leader who will go every length to ensure that fairness and justice were served.
Chief of Staff, Frema Akosua Opare, led a high powered government delegation comprising Ignatius Baffuor Awuah, MP for Sunyani West, Akwasi Ameyaw Kyeremeh and MP for Sunyani East, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Kwaku Asomah Kyeremeh.
There were also the Bono Regional Chairman, NPP, Kwame Baffour and other party executives.
On behalf of government, ¢50,000 together with assorted drinks and bottled water were presented by the delegation.
Also at the funeral, was the former president Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, Lordina Mahama.
Speaking on behalf of President Rawlings, his spokesperson, Samuel Nuamah Donkor said the late queen mother was a straight forward and truthful person.
He noted that her wise guidance has contributed to the development of her area.
President Rawlings donated assorted drinks and ¢5,000 to the traditional council as his funeral contribution.
