Hamburgers are just meat!

Let me be clear: I like hamburgers. In various forms, shapes, and sizes, I like a piece of beef stuck between two pieces of bread. And I like the various things that various eateries add to this wonderful sandwich. Last weekend I wrote about a new church, and next weekend I am writing about....well, you'll have to wait and see. So why am I talking about hamburgers this week? Well, it's in-between last week and next week, you see....just like a sandwich, innit?! I have been craving a burger recently and early last week I finally succumbed to my hunger. I may like burgers but I do not have them often. You will find out why when you read next week's post. I had a burger from an international chain, from their drive-through branch. It was a good burger. Juicy, tasty, smoky, and the fries were nice and hot. This particular chain has a very 'bacony' taste I have always liked and this burger did not let me down. It was a cheeseburger by the way, and I must add here that cheese on a burger has always done it for me. Then a few days later Daughter #2 said she was ordering a burger for delivery to our home. Would I be interested in one? You wait forever, and then two come along. "Yes!", I said. So she did. I am not even sure where this burger came from, but Daughter #2 recommended it, highly. It took forever to get to our gate, but arrive it did.  It was a good burger. Somehow it tasted 'local'. Don't ask me to explain that; I can't. But it tasted like a Ghanaian burger, and I say that as a compliment. But the fries....the same burger for both of us, but hers came with sweet potato fries, and mine with normal fries. My normal potato fries were fine, and there was enough of them. As it turns out sweet potato fries are nice! I tasted one single fry from her pack, and I liked it. Definitely nicer than mine. Next time my tongue and I shall be wiser. I mention the single fry because I want to ask you something. What do you think of people who, when you offer them fries, stick a hand in your container and take a handful? Isn't it annoying?? Take a fry, take a couple, take five fries, even more maybe. But do it politely! Don't make it look like every single fry in the container has been touched by your grubby hand! Ebei oh! Have you no sense of hygiene?? What about fries without ketchup? Anyone? An abomination I say! Fries without ketchup is like supporting Arsenal without the heartache! It just doesn't work! Of course in places like the Netherlands they prefer to drown the fries in mayonnaise. The jury is out on that....In the meantime I can only eat fries without ketchup if the fries happen to be very hot. Otherwise... Does anyone remember Ramec, the eatery on the Oxford Street in Osu? They made a good burger as I recall. And as I recall as well, they were big. Did you like the fact that they all seemed to have an egg in there somewhere? Ramec burgers were good bites, but I never quite decided whether I liked the egg or not. I never left a morsel of the burger though, egg or no egg... Whenever I travel I try very hard (multiple burgers) to decide which burger is my favourite: Burger King, McDonald's, and now, Five Guys. I never quite decide which is best....which is why I have to do this every single time I travel. Strangely enough, my burger consumption has gone down dramatically. I think it's because I try very hard to sample food that's native to the location. And where are burgers from anyway....originally? And burgers which do not contain beef? I'll eat a chicken burger any day, but it is not the real thing. Chicken does not a great burger make. And if the chicken hap
