Soccer fans in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis would have another opportunity to witness soccer artistry at its best when the four teams of Group "B" resume their struggle for qualification to the next stage of the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament, Ghana 2008 on Friday.
The Elephants of Cote D'Ivoire would take on Benin in the first match while the Super Eagles of Nigeria still brooding over their 1-0 defeat by the Elephants in the opening match on Monday would also take on Mali in the second match of the day.
Even though Cote D'Ivoire would go into the match without much pressure that cannot be said of the Super Eagles, who have no choice but to ensure a total victory to remain in the competition and to bring back smiles onto the faces of their teeming supporters.
Reports gathered by the GNA Sports indicate that the team has plunged into serious training after the defeat and Coach Berti Vogtz is leaving no stone unturned to ensure an emphatic win over Benin, who also lost the first match to Mali.
In spite of their defeat, analysts still believe that the Super Eagles of Nigeria together with the Elephants of Cote D'Ivoire in the ‘Group of Death’ would qualify to the next stage of the competition.
Meanwhile as at Thursday, some local media personnel have still not received their accreditation to cover the matches at the Sekondi stadium.
