First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Joseph Osei-Owusu has awarded the House an 80 percent rating in its three years of work done.
Mr Osei-Owusu said the MPs have worked assiduously to make laws even when it meant working very long hours.
No other public institution has matched that work ethic, the Bekwai MP told Evans Mensah on Joy News’ PM Express programme on Monday.
“We rise to the occasion; for instance, in the budget year, we were sitting from 10:00 am up to midnight, [sometimes] 11:00 pm or 8:00 pm.” “We even worked on a Sunday,” he added.
He asserted MPs scrutinise every document brought before the House in order to deliver proper deals and laws for Ghana.
“I am yet to hear anybody say that ‘in respect of this law’ [parliament did not do a good job],” Osei-Owusu said.
