Celebrity-loved label Vetements threw the Paris Fashion Week crowd for a loop on Friday, assembling a cast of creepy celebrity lookalikes to model its Fall 2020 menswear collection on the catwalk.
Dead ringers for Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell both strutted their stuff on the runway — clad in a gold lamé slip dress and a dramatic fur coat, respectively — as did Angelina Jolie, Sharon Stone, Snoop Dogg and Mike Tyson doppelgängers, the latter even sporting an identical face tattoo.
“I would have loved to have the real Naomi,” Vetements cofounder Guram Gvasalia told Vogue about his eerie casting choice. “But as a young company, I am afraid we cannot afford it.”
The brand is known for its campy approach to clothing, with recent offerings including a “Titanic”-inspired Heart of the Ocean knockoff (which was swiftly snapped up by Céline Dion, naturally) and a $2,200 blue bag inspired by IKEA’s 99-cent plastic “FRAKTA” tote.
