A 60-year-old man, Kwabena Amankwah, has allegedly killed himself after subjecting his wife to cutlass wounds at a village near Kuntenase in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti.
The head of Abena Diana's family, Gideon Frimpong, who disclosed this to Adom News Correspondent, Isaac K. Normanyo said, the couple lived for the past six months until that unfortunate incident happened.
According to an eyewitness account, two farmers met Amankwah fighting with his wife, Abena Diana, and they separated them.
However, the farmers upon returning from their farm came to find the woman in a pool of blood.
With support from others, they sent Abena Diana to Pramso Catholic Hospital before she was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Some community members added that this incident has occurred more than once in the village hence they appealed for a police post to help salvage the nuisance in the community.
Chief Inspector Aboagye Ansah, the Kuntenase Police Station Officer confirmed the incident revealed the husband poisoned himself to death.
The body of the deceased has been sent to the Pramso Catholic Hospital Mortuary.
