Hearts of Oak produced an impressive performance to earn their first win of the season against Ebusua Dwarfs at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A goal in each half by Joseph Esso and Kofi Kordzi secured a 2-1 win for the Phobians, ending their winless run.
Esso scored first from a direct freekick in the first half. The striker bent the ball around the wall into the back of the net.
Kordzi increased the tally in the second half, also scoring a direct freekick as he bent the ball over the wall and the goalkeeper.
Dwarfs grabbed a consolation through Albert Hammond.
In Kumasi, Asante Kotoko fans were left disappointed as their side fell to a shock 1-0 defeat to Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Kofi Owusu scored the only goal in the 7th minute. Kotoko finished the game with 10 men as defender Empem Dacosta was sent off in the 76th minute.
Kotoko had made a fantastic start to the season – with two straight wins and were hoping to secure a third victory. However, Chelsea proved too strong for them on the day.
The win means Chelsea have beaten both Kotoko and Hearts away from home this season.
Elsewhere, Yahaya Mohammed scored a brace as Aduana Stars moved to the top of the league following 2-0 win against King Faisal. The striker has now scored five goals this season.
AshantiGold follows in second place after beating Eleven Wonders 2-0 at home. WAFA, Dreams and Medeama all dropped points for the first time this season.
