Andre Ayew scored in his fourth consecutive game for Swansea City in their 3-1 defeat to Brentford in the Championship on Thursday.
Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock for Brentford midway through the first half before Watkins doubled their lead five minutes later.
Andre Ayew pulled got what would turn into a consolation goal after David Raya only parried Bersant Celina’s initial effort into the path of the Ghana captain.
Despite pressure from Swansea it was Brentford who scored late on to seal the victory, Watkins beating the offside trap and finishing into the bottom corner with just Woodman to beat.
Ayew, who is currently enjoying a purple patch scored against Blackburn then got a brace against Middlesbrough before scoring the winner against Luton prior to the Brentford game on Thursday.
The 30-year-old has taken his season tally to 11 goals and 4 assists in 26 appearances this season.
