Some past students of the College of Health and & Well-Being, Kintampo have threatened to “advise themselves” if their certificates are not released.

The alumni, who call themselves, Concerned Defrauded Physician Assistants, say more than a year or – two, for some of them – after completing a ‘top-up’ programme, in Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Medicine and Health, at the Kintampo-based institution, their certificates are still being held.

The distressed Physician Assistants say they were “directed by Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service to go and upgrade ourselves, yet we are being deprived usage of knowledge acquired, which is already affecting or will affect the total quality of care and eventually defeat the purpose of WHO sustainable universal health coverage for Ghana.”

All negotiations with the relevant authorities to get their certificates released have failed, they say.

In a statement, the aggrieved health workers say they expect their “legally acquired” certificates and transcripts to be released by January 31, 2020, or they would advise themselves in “whatever capacity we deem fit.”
