Activa International Insurance Company Limited through its Activ’Lady programme has presented Christmas items to the management of Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
The gesture is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility and is also in line with the objectives of their flagship program, the Activ’Lady Program which seeks to impact on the lives of women and society as a whole.
The colourful ceremony took place at the premises of the hospital at Asylum down, Accra on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
The items which included Ghana-made rice, soft drinks, Gari, Cooking Oil and other items were presented by the Deputy Managing Director in charge of Finance & Administration, Mrs Genevieve Tachie supported by Activa Ladies.
Mrs Tachie stated that the company is delighted to impact on the patients this festive season by putting smiles on their faces.
She explained that Christmas is a season of love and as an insurance company with the widest Geographical spread in Africa, through its Globus Network as well as the best solutions for the insurance needs of the Ghanaian populace, ‘we intend to share our love with our neighbours and friends who for one reason or the other find themselves a little less privileged than others’.
Activa, which is the foremost insurer of corporate and multinational organisations in Ghana is on the verge of introducing technological solutions to its insurance distribution systems. This would range from online access to the Activ’Lady programme as well as the ability of the company’s numerous customers to buy all classes of insurance online.
The items were jointly received by the Principal Nursing officer, Mrs. Mary Amoo and Senior Nursing officer, Genevieve Awuye-Kpobi. They expressed appreciation to Activa and assured them that they would give them to the inmates, who according to them have not taken soft drinks for a long time due to their inability to buy for them.
Accra Psychiatric Hospital is responsible for the treatment, welfare, training and rehabilitation of the mentally ill.
