After four weeks of the most eloquent display of general knowledge and the ability to perform under pressure, a 30-year-old software engineer, has emerged winner of First National Bank’s maiden pop quiz competition on Joy 99.7FM in Accra.
For coming up tops, Selasie Agbavor was presented with a cash prize of GH¢10,000 after defeating three other smart sharks in the competition’s grand finale, which was broadcast live on Joy 99.7FM.
When asked what he’d do with the money, Mr Agbavor, who works with mPedigree in Accra, said he will “invest it in the bank.”
First National Bank Ghana Limited launched the pop quiz competition in collaboration with Accra-based Joy 99.7FM with the aim to reward loyal customers, impart and share knowledge as well as help the bank live up to its brand promise of HELP.
“This has been one of our most successful campaigns yet and we are delighted that we’ve been able to help many people test their brainpower live on air, while others have learnt a lot of things about the world that they didn’t know before,” said Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at First National Bank, Delali Dzidzienyo.
“It has been a wonderful experience and we wish to express our gratitude to everyone who helped to make this competition a success and we congratulate Selassie on his victory.
“Clearly, he’s a very smart gentleman who made a smart decision to bank with us and his decision to invest his prize money is ample testimony that he’s more than satisfied with our brand and the services we provide. We would like to invite all Ghanaians to join Selasie and all our satisfied customers by switching to First National Bank,” Mr Dzidzienyo Addo.
