The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned its members against rushing to pass comments on internal matters including decisions and actions of party leadership.
“While upholding the principle of free expression of views including the right to dissent within the party, the Political Committee is of the view that such exchanges should be conducted indecorous language, mindful at all times that the party interest is supreme,” the party said in a press release Monday.
The party wants its members to focus on working together to kick the Akufo-Addo government out of power to save the country.

NDC PRESS STATEMENT ON PARTY UNITY AND PARTY DISCIPLINE
At its meeting held last Tuesday in Accra, the Political Committee of the NDC under the Chairmanship of the Flagbearer and Leader of the party, John Dramani Mahama, discussed issues pertaining to preparations for the December 2020 General Elections, with specific reference to matters of party unity and party discipline.
The meeting noted the tendency on the part of some party members to rush to pass uninformed comments on internal matters, including decisions and actions of party leadership.
Note was particularly taken of certain insulting and disparaging comments in the media made against the National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, and other members of a delegation which visited the Okyehene upon the advice of the Political Committee to intercede on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the party.
While upholding the principle of free expression of views including the right to dissent within the party, the Political Committee is of the view that such exchanges should be conducted indecorous language, mindful at all times that the party interest is supreme.
It is also important to emphasise that we have a common opponent seeking to destroy the future of our beloved country who is quick to capitalise on any seeming internal turmoil.
Our energies should, therefore, be channelled towards defeating that opponent who has inflicted unbearable pain and economic hardships on our people and plunged Ghana deeper into the abyss of corruption.
The Political Committee urges senior party members and those on the frontline to set a good example and refrain from media exchanges which incite indiscipline, disloyalty and disrespect.
The Political Committee has accordingly advised the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) to take urgent steps to enforce party discipline and take appropriate action against all those who indulged in the unacceptable conduct on social media with respect to the matter of the delegation’s visit to the Okyehene. The FEC has also been advised by the Political Committee to take steps to enhance information flow and internal channels of communication.
