Veteran Journalism icon Cyril Acolatse will be laid to rest on Friday the 13th of December, 2019.
Mr Cyril Acolatse died on Monday October, 28, 2019 at the Tema General Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are as follows;
Friday 13th December 2019, Filing Past and Tributes begins at 7:30 am and Burial Service at 9:00 am all at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra.
There will be a private burial immediately after the burial service. Final funeral rites will be held at the Naval Officers Mess near the 37 Military Hospital adjacent the Jubilee House.
Memorial Service will come off at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at Community One Tema.
He left behind a wife and 5 children.
Mr Cyril Acolatse worked with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) radio and television for over four decades, and prior to retirement, was Assistant Director of Radio.
He was also a former Vice President of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) and a former member of the National Media Commission, (NMC). He was Head of News and Current Affairs at Metro TV and also served on the Board of GN Media.
Mr Cyril Acolatse enjoyed a budding international career as well with German National media platform - Africa Service of Deutsche Welle (The Voice of Germany) from 1982 to 1985 during which time he presented African News and hosted programmes like "Saturday Special" and "Out-And - About In Germany".
Locally he became a celebrated household name hosting top of the chart rated public affairs programs on television and radio including the famous “PUBLIC CONCERN”, Talking Point, Search Light and Insight.
Mr Acolatse Mr. Acolatse was born on 31st May, 1942 and died at the age of 77.
