President John Agyekum Kufuor has relieved Mr Francis Poku, Minister of National Security of his position with effect from Saturday, January 12, a statement issued today from the Office of the President, Castle, Osu said.
No reasons were given for the action.
The statement signed by Ambassador D.K Osei, Secretary to the President, said the President extends his deepest gratitude to Mr Poku for his immense contribution to the stability and development of the country during his tenure as National Security Co-ordinator and Minister of National Security.
President Kufuor wished him well in all his future endeavours, the statement said.
