The Kumasi City Hotel would be inaugurated on Saturday to provide accommodation for foreign players who would participate at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi during the 26th MTN African Cup of Nations Cup.
A statement signed by Mr. G.B Osei-Antwi, Media Relations Manager for Asantehene's Office, said Mr Herbert Friese, General Manager of Golden Tulip disclosed this to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at Manhyia Palace during a courtesy call on him to inform him of the inaugural ceremony.
Mr. Friese said Golden Tulip would manage the 20 million dollars Hotel owned by the Ghana Libyan Arab Holding Company, adding the facility would initially operate 136 rooms out of the targeted 160 rooms whiles the rest 24 rooms would be completed in two months.
He said the hotel would employ 140 workers and start its free market commercial work from February 25.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II congratulated management of the City Hotel for the good work done in rehabilitating the structure to become a major edifice in Kumasi.
Mr Andre Aaij, the Kumasi City Hotel Manager and Keigslet Ossei Takyi, Commercial Manager accompanied the General Manager, the statement added.
