A 27-member delegation led by Sanitation and Water Resources Minister, Cecelia Abena Dapaah attended the 2019 Water Technology and Environment Control (WATEC) conference in Israel.

The conference which is organised biennially was themed, “Creating Energy Through Interaction” and focused on “Water Stewardship and innovation - driving global leadership in the responsible planning management and protection of water.”

The Minister’s delegation included six State Officials, mainly technocrats from the departments and agencies under her Ministry including Ghana Water Company Limited, Community Water and Sanitation Agency, Water Resources Commission.

Israel Sanitation Minister

There were 21 businessmen and women from the sanitation and environment Sector including Zoomlion, and Ghanaian Israeli Ambassador, Hannah Ama Nyarko and her Deputy, who were with the Ghanaian Team throughout the period of the conference and other events.

Madam Dapaah met with investors to promote the government’s flagship one district one factory policy and investments to help solve the Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Environmental Challenges in Ghana.

Israel Sanitation Minister

The Minister also held high profile meetings, including one with her counterpart, the Israeli Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Yuval Steinitz and his team of experts.

They visited a few places including the Mekorot sewage treatment plant in Shafdanand a number of manufacturing companies.

This year’s four-day conference was organised in collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Economy, Israel New Tech, Manufacturers Association, and Israel Export Institute.

The delegates have now returned to Ghana and prepared to execute plans to achieve the Clean Ghana Agenda.
