Ghana missed out on qualification to next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo after losing to South Africa 6-5 on penalties.
Ghana came from behind on two occasions once again as the game ended 2-2. Due to the time the of the final, the game went straight to a penalty shootout.

Could have done better with South Africa’s second goal but made some important saves. He also saved one penalty during the shootout.
Fobi Kingsley - 2
Caught off guard for the most part of the game. Never looked convincing on the ball and wasted too many crosses. Missed a crucial penalty for Ghana.
Edward Sarpong – 0.5
Looked jittery all game and missed a chance in the shootout to give Ghana the win.
Mohammed Habib – 1
Scored an own goal and was subbed off early in the second half. A bad game overall.
Fuseini Zackaria – 2
Failed to keep up with the high line and was caught flat footed most of the time.
Lomotey Emmanuel – 3.5
He was overran in the middle of the park but atoned by scoring his penalty.
Michael Agbekpornu – 3
Looked tired all game and ended up being subbed off in the 70th minute.
Yaw Yeboah – 1.5
Looked very poor in the first half as he barely touched the ball. He was subbed off at half-time.
Evans Mensah – 7
The only bright spark in the game as he looked energetic scoring Ghana’s first goal and setting up the second.
Samuel Obeng - 5.5
Put in a shift up front as he run tirelessly upfront and grabbed Ghana’s late equaliser.
Kwabena Owusu - 4
Looked better in the second half as he created chances for the team.
Substitutes
Issah Abass – 4
Came on in the second half and looked positive on the left wing. He brought new energy to the team and had good impact on the team.
Emmanuel Cudjoe – 1.5
Looked very uncomfortable at the back. He also missed the last penalty for Ghana.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko – 4
Started the game on a slow note once again but reacted well with his changes. Very little he could do during the shoot-out.
