Ghana Commercial Bank has dispatched tickets for sale to the general public for some of the matches of the Ghana 2008 MTN Africa Cup of Nations to the public at its branches throughout the country.
The Bank begun sale of the tickets last Saturday to 78 selected of its 136 branches after it received the first batch of 12,270 tickets on Friday to cover the Ghana vrs Guinea, Ghana vs Morocco, Guinea vrs Morocco and Ghana vrs Namibia matches all to be played at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.
A press release issued by the Public Relations Department of GCB copied to the GNA Sports said that it was decided that for a start, all the branches in Accra and Tema which offer Saturday Banking Services began sale of the tickets on January 5.
On Monday evening, the Bank again took delivery of the second consignment of 4,669 tickets from the Local Organising Committee for the Namibia vrs Morocco match also to be played in Accra which have also been dispatched to the designated branches for sale.
Meanwhile tickets have been dispatched to all the GCB branches in Accra and Tema as well as other regional capitals at Cape Coast, Koforidua, Kumasi, Tamale, Sunyani, Wa, Bolgatanga and Sekondi-Takoradi.
The release explained that so far only two batches of tickets, all in categories of GH4cedis and GH15 cedis for the Accra matches have been supplied to the Bank.
It added that the Bank is yet to receive tickets for the other matches for distribution to its branches nation-wide but assured the general public that as soon as tickets for the other matches are delivered its distribution will be effected immediately.
