Thousands of festivalgoers converged on the Volta Region town of Anlo Saturday, November 2, to mark the climax of Hogbetsoso festival.
The annual festival which was marked by all 36 communities within Anglo State, attracted both Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians of diverse backgrounds, who participated in the grand durbar at the Hogbe Park, Anloga.
Former presidents, Jerry John Rawlings, and John Dramani Mahama among other dignitaries were in attendance to engage in the festivities.
The occasion was also used as a platform to foster unity and cohesion among indigenes.
The 2019 edition was observed under the theme: "Uniting Anlo through its value for the benefits of its citizens and the nation at large".
Hogbetsotso is the grand procession of chiefs to commemorate the exodus of the Anlo-Ewes from Northern Togo to their present location in the south-eastern wetlands of Ghana.
The festival is anchored on the agenda to assemble cultural heritage bodies to champion the developmental goals of Anlo State.
