The 2019 Accra International Book Festival opens on Thursday, October 24 with the Kwame Nkrumah Writers’ Workshop at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The four-day Book Festival will start from October 24-27, 2019, under the theme, “Dream, a talk with the Afro-world.”
The 2019 edition of the biggest celebration of literature in Africa will feature several activities, including writers’ workshop, musical concert, Ga Ne arts fair, book readings, signings and writers’ tour.
The other activities are panel discussions, exhibitions, and dance lessons among others.
“The Book Festival is kids friendly,” the Accra International Book Festival noted in a statement Wednesday.
The list of #AccraBookFest2019 Speakers has been outdoored featuring first-class writers, poets and musicians, including Professor Lade Wosornu (Ghana), Bisi Adjapon (Ghana), and Bayyinah Monk Nduaka (America).
The rest are songstress Efe Keyz (Ghana), Yusuf Ahmad Bello (Ghana), and fashion designer Patrick Nketiah (Ghana) among others.
The Kwame Nkrumah Writers Workshop 2019 will be attended by 15 selected participants who would be trained in writing, from fiction to nonfiction.
The Accra Book Fest 2019 will mark the 400th-Anniversary of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, which robbed Africa of its human resources.
