The chief and people of Anunso in the Bosome-Freho constituency of the Asiwa District, a major cocoa growing area at the weekend appealed to the government to assist in the construction of a five- kilometre road from Achiase through Anunso to Anyaaso.
Nana Boadi Nsia II, chief of Anunso, made the appeal at a meeting with his people to plan how best they could help themselves to transport foodstuffs and cocoa from the area to the marketing centres.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the meeting, the Assemblyman for the area, Mr Kwame Agyekum commended the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Ofori Kruaku, for bring development projects such as schools infrastructure and electrification, which was funded by the government.
Mr Oduro Kakari, Unit Committee Chairman, appealed to non-resident citizens to visit home regularly to contribute their quota to the development of the community.
Mr Joseph Kwadjo Gyamfi and Nana Sanku, both opinion leaders expressed their appreciation to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the numerous development projects that were taking place in the area, saying, it would encourage the youth to stay home rather than go to the cities in search of non-existing jobs.
