Roverman Productions over the weekend performed their third play of the year ‘Not My Husband’ that got audience watching with bated breath.
After exploring false prophets in his last play ‘I Want Your wife’ Uncle Ebo Whyte took the audience to the life in the hospital in his new play ‘Not My Husband’.
Alice is not only a superstar but a stubborn one who loves the thrills of life. After she was involved in an accident, she falls into a coma only to find her soul between life and death. This Ebo Whyte described as ‘the third dimension.’
Obed, Alice’s husband, refuses to leave her side. He felt he had let her down by focusing so much on his work than her. Obed failed to love his wife as a husband should until she asked for a separation. Obed then woke up to his misdeed and was bent on loving her again.
His love is now keeping Alice "hostage" in the third dimension even though she desired to move on.
On another hand, her on-call nurse, Jackie, has seen how well Obed is treating his comatose wife and yearns for that kind of love. With Alice nearly dead, Jackie urges Obed not to put his life on hold.
Alice is not happy her husband is falling for Jackie.
Of course, these characters, in all their dilemma, had the audience laughing so hard with the nosy doctor being at the centre of every fight, teasing or advise.
But the question remains, would Alice want to come back to life? If yes what does she need to do to leave the third dimension? If no what is the impact that decision would have on her family on earth?
‘Not My Husband’ shows on October 12 and 13 at 4 pm and 8 pm each day.
