Ghana will play Montenegro in an international friendly in March to boost the Black Stars preparation for the World Cup in Brazil, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The match will be played on 5 March in Podgorica, the Montenegro FA has told Ghana’s leading football news outfit, GHANAsoccernet.com.
The game will be played at the City Stadium in Podgorica.
According to the Montenegro FA, the agreement to play the match in the European country was reached on Friday evening as the Black Stars seek to prepare against European sides before the World Cup.
It will be the last friendly match for Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah before he names his squad for the 2014 World Cup.
It will also be the Black Stars first game of the year and the final chance for players to impress the coach before he names his team for the competition in Brazil in June.
The match against Montenegro seems to put to rest the proposed game against Colombia on the same day after the South Americans claimed last week that they will face the Ghanaians on the same day.
Ghana will face European countries Germany and Portugal in Group G at the World Cup with the United States as the last team in the group.
