A magistrate's court at Bibiani has remanded Amma Agyeiwaa, a 40-year-old woman for allegedly hiring three men including her former boyfriend to kill Mustapha Salifu, her husband, at Sefwi-Wenchi.
Agyeiwaa, whose plea was not taken, will re-appear before the court on January 10.
The court asked the police to intensify investigations to enable them to apprehend the three men who were on the run.
Detective Police Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the court presided over by Mr Dickson Dakatsey that the complainant, Mustapha Salifu had married Agyeiwaa for three years now and has a child with her.
Chief Inspector Asamoah said Salifu established a drinking bar for the accused at Sefwi-Wenchi.
Prosecution said on December 7 this year, the complainant assisted his wife in the sale of drinks until around 0100 hours when they went to sleep.
Chief Inspector Asamoah said while they were asleep, Agyeiwaa suddenly woke up and went out and returned with three men including her former boyfriend.
Prosecution said Agyeiwaa locked the door and asked the husband to say his last prayers and ordered the three men to kill him.
Chief Inspector Asamoah said the three men engaged Salifu in a struggle and Solomon, Agyeiwaa's former boyfriend, inflicted cutlass wounds on the complainant.
The three men opened the door and fled When Salifu raised the alarm.
