Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has admitted that he needs to leave Fulham in order to stand any chance of playing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Boateng has lacked playing time since joining the London club at the start of the season. His situation could even get worse following the departure of Dutchman, Martin Jol who brought him from Dnipro.

With just six months to the World Cup, the former Getafe player knows the only option he has is to move to another club.

“It is every players dream to play in the World Cup and I want to go to Brazil to help my national team, but I cannot go to Brazil while I continue to warm the bench at Fulham.

"I was signed by Jol and he is no more with us, so I have started speaking to Fulham and hopefully they will understand me and allow me to go on loan, he told Football411.

"Scott Parker and the other players are doing well, and I don't think I can be guaranteed a permanent place with the starting lineup

"I know this request won't cause any problem for both parties," he added.

The former Ghana U-20 star must fight hard to make the World Cup list due to the return of the likes of Michael Essien and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
