The player who is a regular member of the senior side received two separate call ups to feature for both the Black Stars and the Olympics team, the Black Meteors for their impending assignments in February.
Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy included the attacking midfielder in squad for the international friendly against Nigeria on February 6 while Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, coach of the Olympic team also handed Haminu a call up for the game against the Young Stallions, a day after the senior side’s game.

According to Randy Abbey, who also doubles as the FA spokesperson and head of the Black Meteors management team Haminu’s Black Star mate, Asamoah Gyan would feature for the senior side though he was included in the Olympic team list.
