The regional hospital in Sunyani has recorded 20 births during the Christmas festivities.
Ms Evelyn Atu-Amoako, senior midwifery officer, told the Ghana News Agency the babies were nine females and 11 males.
She said two of the babies were delivered through a caesarian session and the rest the normal delivery, adding, one of the mothers delivered inside the vehicle conveying her to the hospital.
All the babies except one, who died in the womb, are doing fine and have been discharged, the senior midwifery officer said.
Explaining circumstances leading to the single death, Ms Atu-Amoako said the mother came to the hospital with excessive bleeding and was rushed to the theatre in order to save her life but the baby could not survive.
The senior midwifery officer advised pregnant women to visit health facilities frequently for a thorough check up on them before their time of delivery to prevent any complications.
Would-be mothers who come to the hospital with health problems are those who refuse to visit the hospital, she noted and appealed to expectant mothers to attend antenatal till their time of delivery.
Ms Atu-Amoako stated that every pregnancy was at risk since no one could predict the end of a pregnancy and as such much care and attention needed to be given to pregnant women.
At the Sunyani Municipal hospital, two males and a female were born during the yuletide.
Mrs. Sarah Appiah, superintendent mid-wife, said two of the mothers went through normal delivery and the other caesarian, adding all the babies were alive and had since been discharged.
