The Nankpala Campus of the University of Development Studies branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy Network (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his election as the flag bearer of the party.
A statement signed by Mr Mathew Piito, President of the Network, said it was strongly convinced that Nana Akufo-Addo's election was not by chance but was a deserving one.
"For us your success in this contest spells doom for the opposition parties because your victory in the 2008 is a foregone conclusion and we are prepared to support you in all ways possible to ensue that this comes to pass."
The statement commended Mr Alan Kyeremanten for exhibiting his sense of maturity by conceding defeat, thereby sparing the delegates of a tiresome run-off
adding that it was a clear demonstration of the common agenda and unity of purpose that the NPP fraternity had been pursuing.
It also praised the other aspirants and their supporters for their good conduct following the declaration of the results.
The statement noted that the NPP had once again showcased the internal democracy that has always existed within the party.
It thanked the delegates for making a good choice saying, "it is not Nana that has won rather it is NPP and we are calling on all and sundry to come on board so that we champion the cause of the next President of Ghana."
