Ex Ghana player Tony Baffoe is calling for the inclusion of former Black Stars players like Stephen Appiah and Samuel Osei Kufuor in the Black Stars team, ahead of Ghana’s participation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Tony Baffoe who is the General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), stressed that it is important to have these ex-players recruited into the technical team to boost the morale of the players.
Youth and Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and GFA president Kwasi Nyantakyi haave been lauded for bringing together the old players to inspire the Black Stars during the qualifying series for the 2014 World Cup tournament.
Tony Baffoe who now works for FIFA as a match coordinator, Joy Sports that the former players should assigned key responsibilities in the day to day running of the Black Stars team.
“I’m interested to make football players gain lots of respect and football players playing active role in day to day administration stroke coaches,” said Tony Baffoe
“If I see Kwasi Appiah who is the president of the PFAG being the coach of the Ghana national team, then Black Stars makes me proud.
“And I want to see more former footballers being in charge of the day to day administration of the Black Stars; it is very important to have people like Stephen Appiah playing a leading role in going towards Brazil 2014, Sammy Kufuor has done so well so let’s engage these players”.
