Mrs. Emma Amoateng, Ashanti Regional Girls Education Coordinator of the Ghana Education Service has advised the youth not to rush into marriage which is a life-term covenant.
Mrs. Amoateng, gave the advice in Kumasi at the week-end when addressing the members of the Kumasi Catholic Arch-Diocesan Charismatic Renewal at their annual city prayer meeting.
She said that instead of the youth in the church preparing themselves spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially and financially before entering into it, “they just jumped into it without considering the challenges associated with it.”
Mrs. Amoateng, however, entreated them to wait on the Lord for whatever they wished to do in life.
She advised the Catholic youth to hold on to their faith so that the devil would not take them away.
The Co-ordinator implored the members not to involve themselves in “juju”: black power which, he said has become the order of the day for wealth; rather, they should work hard and be more committed to their God and He (God) would provide their needs.
She attributed the high rate of divorce in society to unprepared marriage.
Rev. Father Paul Baffour Awuah, Konongo-Mampong Catholic Diocesan Administrator challenged the members of the group to let their lives reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ, their Saviour.
He reminded them to be role models to those who had not known God to motivate them to follow Jesus Christ.
On his part, the Co-ordinator of the group, Mr. Agyenim Boateng advised the members to be vigilant and mindful of the activities of the devil.
