Head coach for the local Black Stars, Maxwell Konadu has hailed his side's second-half performance to defeat Sierra Leone 4-1 in the opening game of the 2013 WAFU Zone B tournament at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday.
Sierra Leone bossed the first half and deservedly took the lead in the 10th minute of the first half, courtesy of Kwame Qwee's strike.
However, Ghana leveled up through Michael Akuffo in the 25th minute to go into recess 1-1.
Theophilus Anorbah, Latif Mohammed and Sulley Mohammed scored a goal each in the second half to round things up for the Local Black Stars.
"What you saw in the second half is just the glimpses of how we want to play our game so you will see more of those performance in the future," Coach Maxwell Konadu said.
"Our game plan is to win the balls and play on the counter, and in the first half our opponents were dominating so we just couldn't go."
Konadu added: "We are taking one match at a time. We can't tell you we will win the tournament so we must be patient. We will take one match as it comes.
The 4-1 victory has shot Ghana to the top of Group A with three points, following the 2-2 draw between Benin and Burkina Faso in the same group fixture.
