The flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor John Evans Attah Mills on Sunday congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for emerging as the presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Nana Akufo-Addo won the presidential slot of the party during the 22 December, 2007 National Delegates Congress of the party at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon.
The message, which was contained in a press release signed by Mr Koku Anyidoho, in charge of Communications at the office of the NDC presidential candidate, congratulated NPP for electing Nana Akuffo-Addo.
"To all those who contested and did not ride on personal victory waves, John Atta Mills applauds them for being an integral part of the collective victory of the NPP," the statement said.
It said the NPP had obviously put its best foot forward and Prof. Mills was more than ready to pitch his academic record, public service record and what is more importantly, his vision for Ghana against whatever Nana Akufo-Addo would bring to the table.
The statement said: "The battle is on, and John Evans Atta-Mills and the NDC are more than prepared for it."
