Preview: Egypt v Ghana

Football's unpredictability means it’s a dicey duel awaiting Ghana in Egypt for Tuesday's World Cup qualifying play-off.

Ghana are all-but through against Egypt after winning in the first leg with a strong performance on home soil that produced a 6-1 victory.

Kick-off is at 16:00GMT (4:00PM local time)

At least a draw or at worst a 4-0 defeat is required for the Black Stars to qualify to next year’s World Cup as Ghana push for a third consecutive appearance.

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah doesn't expect their Egyptian opponents to roll over easily in a match that has drawn tight security measures due to the unstable situation in the North African country.

"Egypt has got a every good team, no doubt about that. Even though we won, we are not going to get it easy," Appiah told www.ghanafa.org.

"We are not going to sit back. We will try and get a win."

For Appiah, another heroic performance from the Black Stars who he expects to go into the match full of confidence will take Ghana through.

"All the players have proved that given the chance, they can perform," he said.

Egypt were outperformed by a strong Ghana side who were in superb form in Kumasi but coach of the Pharaohs, Bob Bradley is not just giving up.

"I could feel the players were not in the right frame of mind before the game. We made a couple of small mistakes at the beginning and the players became more nervous. That is my responsibility too but I told the players that they did their best," Bradley said.

"I asked them to concentrate in coming game as we still have another 90 minutes in Egypt. Ninety minutes in Kumasi don't change our efforts all over the past two years," he said

"In the second leg we should play fast football so we must have 11 ready players as well as the substitutes."

The permutations are clear for either side to progress.

The Black Stars, however need a draw or a win to secure passage to Brazil.

Egypt need a five-goal margin victory against Ghana to make it to the World Cup finals or four answered goals to at least secure an aggregate draw.
