Prince Yaw Donyina, Chief Executive of the Techiman Municipal Assembly, has urged the people to collaborate with the assembly to initiate good programmes for development to improve their living conditions.
He asked the Assembly to sensitised the people on the need to pay their taxes regularly to generate more revenue for development.
Prince Donyina was addressing a meeting of tax payers and stakeholders in the municipality on the need to pay taxes to boost revenue generation and how to improve the socio-economic development of the area.
He commended government for supporting the Assembly to initiate development projects in the municipality, adding, Techiman had since the NPP government came to power been moved forward.
Mr. Cosmos Yanoore, Municipal Finance Officer, announced that out of the estimated revenue target of 5 billion cedis set up by the Assembly this year, a total of 4.6 billion cedis was realized as at the end of November.
He expressed the hope that the target would be met by the close of the year.
Mr. Yanoore said much of the Assembly's resources were spent on managing waste in the municipality to ensure good sanitation.
He said the Assembly had built sporting fields to promote sporting activities among the youth.
Mr. Kofi Asamoah Abanaba, Presiding Member, expressed gratitude to the people for their attendance at the meeting to co-ordinate ideas towards the total development of the municipality.
