Two persons who posed as workers of the Power Distribution Services (PDS) are in the grips of the Kyebi divisional police command for forcefully disconnecting the power supply of residents at Teacher Mante in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern region.
The suspects, Okai Samuel, 26, a student at Coaltar Senior High School and Prince Owusu Ansah, 27, also a student of the Accra Technical University, were arrested by the residents and handed them over to the police.
Mary Eshun, the regional PDS PRO who confirmed the arrest of the suspects to Joy News’ Kofi Siaw, said they were arrested after Teacher Mante residents suspected them of being imposters.
The two allegedly cut power supply to the homes of customers who had defaulted in the payment of their bills and had refused to pay them some amounts of money they had requested.
She said in some cases, the imposter fake completely removed the postpaid meters of customers who failed to yield to their request.
The two were put before the Kibi magistrate court and had been remanded into police custody to reappear on September, 21.
