The Western Regional Executive Committee of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has said the election of Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom as the party's flag bearer was a "giant stride" to win political power once again.
It said what was important now was to foster unity, hard work and sacrifice among the rank and file of the party and also focus on a common strategy to enhance the chances of the CPP to win the 2008 election.
These were contained in a congratulatory message to Dr. Nduom on his election as the presidential candidate of the party in the upcoming general elections.
Mr. Samuel Gordon Etroo Regional Chairman of the party signed the message.
The message said the successful organisation of the congress and the peaceful conduct of the elections was a sign of maturity that had also helped to boost the image of the party in the eyes of the electorate.
He urged the other contestants to see these as victory for the party and join hands with the flag bearer to enable the party to take its rightful place in the country's political arena.
The message stressed the need for all supporters and sympathisers of the CPP to pool their resources together and embark on a massive membership drive to enhance its chances in the upcoming elections.
It appealed to the electorate to give CPP the chance to make the country a better place for all by voting massively for Dr. Nduom and those who would be elected to stand on the ticket of the party in the various constituencies.
