The Millennium Development Authority says it will start disbursing some monies to farmers early in 2008.
The funds are expected to be used for their various projects in the selected districts countrywide.
Some 60,000 farmers selected from 1,200 Farmer-Based-Organizations (FBOs) are undergoing training to access the facility.
Officials say some of the already established ones engaged in the horticultural export business are already going through the process to access their monies through the commercial banks.
About 58 million dollars out of the over 547 million dollars Millennium Challenge Account MCA is to be invested directly into agricultural credit.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Development Authority Martin Eson Benjamin says the MCA project intends to improve upon agricultural production in the next five years.
