Ghana’s first Alternative Rock Band, Dark Suburb, is set to feature Moroccan singer Ahmed Soultan on their new single.
This comes after the group had hinted of an album release and a tour.
In an interview with Joy News’ Becky on the E With Becks show on Joy Prime, the group leader said not only do they share a passion project with the Moroccan singer but he is also a brother to them.
Crowdfunding their project seeks to invest in development in the slums he explained.
He revealed the group is focusing on education and have pledged to help of 10,000 schools through Ahmed Soultan.
“Every show we have now is crowdfunded, if you book us, you pay for sound but what you pay is crowdfunding pay to our Henan Humbu foundation” he stated.
He added, “Ahmed is very much into the social music business and also passionate about African development.”
Dark Suburb is a group of anonymous talented musicians (guitarist, pianist, drummers, and singer) who wear skeleton masks as a form of identity.
The band consist of 5 musicians and a poet, who acts as their Chief Priest and bandleader. They have been able to combine rock with all forms of African style of music.
