The Programme Overseer of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention, Mr. James Kofi Atta Keelson, announced that the number of the congregation worldwide has increased to 6.5 million as of last year.
Mr Atta Keelson was delivering a sermon on, ”The real followers of Christ ” during their annual convention held at Asokore Mampong in Ashanti Region on Sunday and attended by 5716 delegates from the various circuits in the Region.
The three-day convention which started from 23rd November 2007, will be held every weekend till January 20, 2008.
Mr. Atta Keelson urged the delegates to maintain strict neutrality in every political affair since he quoted Jesus as saying his Kingdom is not part of the world.
He noted that to be a true Christian, one has to preach the Kingdom of God from house to house and therefore called on the congregation to continue their house to house preaching.
He cautioned the congregation not to seek worldly prominence and bestow religious titles on one another.
He advised them to be humble, exhibit love among themselves and also take good care of their families through hard work as it is the only by this way that their burdens could be lifted by God.
More than on hundred new members were baptized and converted to the Jehovah Witness Congregation.
