S.O Frimpong Transport (SOFT) has been adjudged the winner of the Vivo Energy Ghana Transporter Award for 2018, for the fourth consecutive time.

SOFT beat off competition from J.K Ahiadome Transport and J.K Horgle to win the award.

The Vivo Energy Ghana Transporters’ Award is celebrated annually to honour transporters who undertake high risk activities in transporting Vivo’s products including white oils, aviation fuel, bitumen and lubricants to consumers across the country.

Addressing dignitaries at the award ceremony, Ben Hassan Ouattara, Vivo Energy Ghana Managing Director, said the company was excited to be honouring its partners.

He said they are celebrating those who play critical roles in successfully transporting Shell’s quality products across the country during the past years without any incident.

Mr Ouattara said Vivo Energy continues to make investments into Health, Safety, Security and the Environment compliance including training and adoption of the best safety practices to improve performance.

Instructively, the three transporters for the past nine years, have travelled a distance of nearly 56 million kilometres without a single accident.

The Vivo Energy Ghana MD was not surprised that SOFT scored 5.50/5.50 while J.K Ahiadome and J.K Horgle both scored 5.49/5.49 in the 2019 Global Haulier Assessment Programme, run by the Vivo Energy Group.

Effective driving, journey and maintenance management, continuous annual driver training programmes, daily and bi-annual vehicle inspection and a rigid vehicle replacement policy, Mr Ouattara said have helped to create a safe and efficient transportation system for Vivo.

The Executive Director of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), May Obiri-Yeboah, commended SOFT and the other award winners for their contribution to road safety and urged them to continue to practice safe driving.

Managing Director of S.O Frimpong Transport, Randy Frimpong, credited his company’s success over the last four years to the company’s strong management system and the top class training giving to drivers.
