From July 30 to August 2, Sérgio Pimenta, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Vice President for the Middle East and Africa, will visit Ghana, a first in his present role.
During his visit, Mr Pimenta will meet with President Nana Akufo-Addo, several members of Cabinet, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Yedu Addison; a representation of the private in Ghana and other development partners.
He will also participate in the Meeting of the African Governors of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (‘2019 African Caucus”) in Accra.
The IFC Vice President will share the Corporation’s perspectives on the topic of this year’s Caucus; ‘Africa Beyond Aid: Enhancing Institutional Capacity and Innovative Finance for Sustainable Growth’.
IFC has invested more than $4 billion in Ghana – $2 billion of which has been in the past five years – in agribusiness, education, energy, financial institutions, ports, and tourism.
It’s Advisory programs are also supporting the Government’s reform agenda to improve the country’s business environment.
On this trip, Pimenta will sign an agreement with the Government of Ghana to boost private investments in agribusiness under the Invest Ghana Agribusiness Advisory Project.
