Ghana-based Nigerian comedian, Hogan, says Beyoncé has to be thankful to Africa for helping her career stay afloat.
According to Hogan, many Africans like himself, were not fond of the American songstress’ music but they have been forced to listen to her ‘Lion King; The Gift’ album because of the inclusion of African talents.
Reacting to the buzz around Beyoncé and Shatta Wale’s ‘Already’ track, Hogan stressed the American musician stands to benefit more mileage than the Africans featured.
“Africans we help people by lifting them up. Now I’m listening because Shatta Wale Wizkid and other Africans are on the Lion King album. We are lifting Beyoncé with our brands,” he stated on ‘The Gist’ with Joynews’ MzGee.
He added that the Africans featured have lifted Beyoncé’s brand beyond theirs. Arguing that most Americans will not listen to African music as Africans do theirs.
“No matter how you do it, there is no way an African artiste will trend or American people will be listening to our music, they will just listen to it once and skip. Trust me but Beyoncé now is going to be listened to more often here,” he said.
