Multiple law enforcement agencies were summoned in a Spanish town when a bull with its horns set aflame broke loose and fell into a ravine.
The bull, which had its horns set on fire as part of the Bous Embolado festival, escaped from its enclosure during a bull running event about 4:30 a.m., witnesses said.
The animal charged at a man sitting on a fence above the Palancia river and ended up falling into the dry riverbed.
Local officials said the rescue effort included multiple law enforcement agencies and lasted for about nine hours. One person sustained minor injuries.
The bull was subdued with a tranquilizer dart administered under the supervision of a veterinarian, police said.
The bovine was not injured and was returned to its enclosure.
