The New Patriotic Party has sent a goodwill message to the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of their match against the Pharaohs of Egypt tomorrow at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.
“The NPP believes strongly that with sheer determination and hard work from our players, the technical team and management, and the unflinching support of all of us, the Black Stars will, tomorrow, take a giant step reaching Brazil for the 2014 World Cup,” the party said in a statement signed by Perry Okudzeto, Acting Director of Communications, NPP.
The party said it has noted with satisfaction how well the team has performed in our bid to reach a third successive World Cup and urged them to “finish the work tomorrow and make the return encounter in Egypt a mere formality”.
The statement said the NPP believes the Stars are certainly aware that the entire nation is solidly behind them and charged them to go all out to “put smiles on to the faces of Ghanaians who are struggling with the growing hardship in the country”.
“We also call on Ghanaians, irrespective of their sporting, political or religious backgrounds to rally behind the Black Stars and cheer them to victory.
“We wish the Black Stars the very best of luck and urge them to make us proud.”
