The Receiver for the 347 insolvent Microfinance Companies (MFCs), has dismissed reports that he is engaging some customers to receive payments of their invested funds.
Eric Nipah says such reports making the rounds in the Ashanti Region are false and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.
There have been reports in the region calling on customers of Jasper Motors, Care for Humanity, God is Love and Perfect Edge to submit documentation of their claim to A One Microfinance for processing of their claim and payment.
But the Receiver said none of the aforementioned companies is under his receivership warning that people who do business with those MFCs do so at their own risk.
Mr Nsiah said customers are not supposed to go to A One Microfinance for payment of any kind whatsoever.
He added that for those in his receivership, the validation process is still on-going.
According to the Receiver, he will publish any relevant information concerning the Receivership process.
He advised the general public to confirm the veracity of any communication purporting to be coming from the office of the Receiver.
The aforementioned banks were part of the 347 microfinance institutions that had their licenses revoked by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) in May this year.
In accordance with Section 123(2) of Act 930, the central bank appointed Eric Nana Nipah, a Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers (Ghana) Limited (“PwC”) as Receiver for the purposes of winding down the affairs of microfinance companies.
