The minister of the interior says government has secured three additional flights that should lift one thousand three hundred and sixty more pilgrims to Jeddah by close of today.
Kwamena Bartels said an additional flight will tomorrow lift the rest of the pilgrims.
So far close to seven hundred out of the two thousand seven hundred have made it to Mecca but Mr. Bartels said with the new flights, all of them will make it.
The Minister disclosed this when he paid a visit to the pilgrims at the Kotoka International Airport to assure them of governments readiness to address their problem.
The Minister’s message was however greeted with hostility by the stranded pilgrims who are running out of patience.
Security men at a point had to step in to protect the minister from the angry pilgrims.
