Members of Keep Fit Clubs have been urged to assist and encourage the people to keep healthy lifestyle to assist towards the socio- economic development of the country.
Mr. Reginald Sackey, Assembly Member for the Essam Electoral Area, near Akim Oda in the Birim South District, made the call at a special annual Keep Fit meeting at Essam.
The Assembly Member who is also the secretary of the Club, said fitness played a very important role in the life every human being, which must therefore be embraced by all.
Mr. Sackey said that the Club which was formed two years ago, aims at ensuring that the people, especially the youth of the area involved themselves in sporting activities, so as to be able to contribute their quota towards the development of the nation.
He stressed that no rpt no country could make any headway in its endeavours if the people were not rpt not healthy. He therefore urged Ghanaians to maintain the momentum of the Keep Fit concept.
Mr. Sackey advised the members, especially the youth against alcoholism, smoking and drug abuse which destroys the organs.
He also advised the club not rpt not to only concern itself with the physical exercise of only its members, but to also organise clean up exercises as well to make their environments worthy of living.
